Publishing processes

You can publish single or multiple processes by name or by using a filter from the Process Library page in the Manage menu.

note

Before you can publish any processes or component, you must create a "packaged component" version of it and mark it shareable.

Publish processes by name

Enter a name to search for packaged processes.

In the Packaged Processes list, type all or part of a packaged process name in the search box. The packaged processes whose names match your search input are displayed in the list.

To reset the list, either click the Clear icon or press the Esc key.

Publish processes by filter

Use preset filters to speed up searches for processes to publish.

  1. In the Packaged Processes list, click Add Filter.

  2. Using the preset filter, Publish Status, select either Published or Not Published and click Apply.

note

For legacy deployment, you can also use a Component Type filter and select Process or API Service component.

The list of packaged processes is filtered according to your selection.

To reset the filter, click Add Filter and turn selected filters off and click Apply or click Clear all filters to display the complete list of packaged processes.

Publish a single process

On the Process Library page, locate the process that you want to publish by using a filter or searching by name.

  1. Select the process to highlight it, but do not select its check box.

  2. Click Publish Package.

    The Publish Package dialog opens.

  3. (Optional) To display information about the selected package version, click View Details.

The Package Details page is displayed.

  4. (Optional) To select a different version of the package to publish, click Select another version.

The Select Package Version page is displayed.

  5. (Optional) In the Publication Description field, type a description of the publication.

This description appears in the Browse Process Library dialog where users select published processes to install.

  6. (Optional) If you want to include passwords, select Include passwords in publication.

Any passwords that are specified within the process are included in the publication.

  7. (Optional) In the Publication Notes field, type internal notes describing the changes for the new publication.

  8. Click Publish.

The newly published version appears in the Publication History table.

Publish multiple processes

On the Process Library page, locate the processes that you want to publish by using a filter or searching by name.

Do one of the following:

  • If you want to publish all of the shareable packaged processes that are displayed, select the check box of the top-most folder. All processes are selected.

  • If you want to publish all shareable packaged processes within a folder, select the folder's check box.

  • Select the check boxes next to individual packaged processes that you want to publish.

The Publish Multiple Packages table displays with the processes listed in the order they were selected.

You can view details or select another version of the processes or remove any processes that you do not want to publish. Click Review and Publish to view the Publish Packages dialog.

  • (Optional) To display detailed information about a package version, click the version ID in the Package Version field.

  • (Optional) If you want to include passwords, select Include passwords in process publication. Any passwords that are specified within the processes are included in the publication.

  • (Optional) In the Publication Notes field, type internal notes describing the collective changes for the new publications.

Click Publish to publish the selected processes.

After processes are published they must be shared in order to become available for installation in managed accounts. Sharing means adding the processes as resources to account groups of which managed accounts are members — you do this on the Settings page on the Account Groups tab.
